DH&N LOGUE Ltd is a privately owned company registered in the Republic of Rwanda. We offer various services in the fields of translation, transcription, interpretation, proofreading, writing and editing, captioning and subtitling, and voice over, among others.

The term "logue" in our company name comes from a Greek word "logos" meaning "word." This is appropriate because we deal with words. Words come in various forms: written, spoken, signed (as in sign language)...

Our goal is to give you as our client the word results that you may need. You may need your text to be written, proofread, edited, translated, transcribed...That's where we come in, hence the term "logue."

First of all, what is transcription? Put simply, transcription is the process of converting speech into text.

Lectures, seminars, trainings, survey or research interviews, videotaped or or recorded legal proceedings, marketing videos, etc may need to be transcribed for various reasons.

A transcript is important for many reasons:

1. It allows those who cannot listen to or watch your content, still be able to consume it.
2. It allows you to create a written document that has clikable links! Audio and video are great, but having a transcript with clikable links (whether a PDF or on a website) will always ensure you have easy and convenient way to visit  any website mentioned in the audio, video or podcast.
3. Some people like to have the text in front of their eyes while listening or watching, because it reinforces the content.
4. It is easier to process. It may be a survey or an interview conducted with many people for research purposes. While the audio or video recording contains all the information, it still needs to be transcribed to be processed. A transcript is needed for information to jump out, conclusion to be made and the final report of the survey or research which cannot be in the audio format
5. It makes the content far more easily researchable. If someone remembered part of what you mentioned in a video or audio recording and wanted to get the  whole thing in context, it's much easier to search  for certain pieces of text within a transcript, than to scan through an audio or video file to find  a certain snippet.
6. For search engine optimization (SEO) purposes. Again, audio and video are fantastic, but without any written text, the specific content you talk about will not get picked up and indexed by search engines.

Interpretation services

We offer you both consecutive and simultaneous interpretation services for seminars, lectures, training sessions and on-field interpretation services with customers, partners and beneficiaries. 

 Video Captioning and Subtitling

Subtitles are displayed generally on the bottom of the screen along with the audio track for the purpose of making the dialog more comprehensible to viewers who may not understand the native language or when the audio is temporarily unintelligible (i.e., when drowned out by other sound in a public setting). Subtitles may also be used when a viewer wishes to hear the audio track in its original language and read the text in translation rather than hearing the dialog dubbed into the viewer’s own language.

Captions are similar to subtitles but may include in addition to dialog other audio information such as sound effects, symbolic representations of music, and may even indicate the speaker when this information is not clearly evident visually. The words captions and subtitles are frequently used interchangeably, but the main distinction between the two is that subtitles assume viewers can hear the audio track but for some reason find it unintelligible. Captions, however, are intended primarily for an audience that that is unable or has difficulty hearing the audio track.

Voice Over

Voice-over (also known as off-camera or off-stage commentary) is a production technique where a voice—that is not part of the narrative (non-diegetic)—is used in a radio, television production, filmmaking, theatre, or other presentations. The voiceover is read from a script and may be spoken by someone who appears elsewhere in the production or by a specialist voice talent
